About Us

Roller Derby is a sport that not only features pure athleticism, but a punch of serious fun.

We are Asheville’s Roller Derby League!
Founded in June of 2006, Blue Ridge Roller Derby make up Asheville, NC’s first flat track roller derby league. We are a member of the official Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and follow WFTDA’s motto, “by the skaters, for the skaters.”

Blue Ridge Roller Derby values diversity, inclusivity and equity within our league, our sport, and our community. BRRD is committed to stewardship of the local communities that our league members call home. In addition to community driven goals, it is our mission to foster competitive gameplay within our parent league, the WFTDA, and to develop competitive amateur athletes with physical stamina and mental strength to reach their personal and team goals.

We are a non-profit organization and will foster community outreach through support of local charities. A few charities the league has supported and raised funds for during their home games include: Reach for the Skye, RAINN, and Interlace. Please research these worthy local charities and give til it hurts!
